That dude was totally cool... he rocked the pink "Dr. Seuss" and tutu! He had a mechanical around mid-day, waited very patiently for Darryl to get to him, but unfortunately he didn't have what was needed to help him... sent him over to Kenda... hopefully things turned out for the best... And yes, he rocked the SS!

OK, he's cool and he rides a SS. And I'm sure he's a **** good rider and all around great guy. That's great. But I still don't get the whole cross dress tutu thing. Where does this come from? Do these people cross dress regularly? Or just at bike races? Please explain if you know. Not judging. Just curious.

I wear men's shorts, so I cross dress every time I ride. Makes me feel faster.

From what I gather, that regardless of what type of biking event, costumes were always encouraged... I saw at least 4 riders wearing tutus (mixed coed) - I think it might have been their race theme... I've seen pictures of races where riders were wearing chicken, penguin, & Big Bird costumes... I think it makes it more fun. From a motivational standpoint, could you take being owned in a race by a guy wearing a tutu? I could, but I probably outweight that cat by 80lbs or more...

The whole team wore them. Team - Racer X - 4 members wearing tutu's, 3 men 1 woman - all riding Niner single speeds. They got 3rd place in the 4 man amateur division, just edging out PTJ, Steven, Ruthie, and Keith.

I tried to run one of them down on a short lap, no dice, he dusted me with about a 50 minute lap.

Wouldn't bother me either. They looked about 20 years younger than me.

Yeah, I've seen pictures of SSWC. Lots of costumes.

lots o' pics

I put a bunch of pics up here. Tons of friends, and lots of folks I don't know - mainly shots in the field from the first lap of racers.

I just scanned them and don't think you're in there, Wade. If there is a pic of anyone that you don't want posted for some reason (gut's too big or something), PM me and I'll take it down.
