Do you bring a camera when you ride?

Feel free to post a reply or just take the poll. Wondering how many people take cameras with them when they ride. I used to take one every time I rode. Now I never take one along for the ride - except on my cell phone. I guess I'd like to get back in the habit...we need some trail pics on the board!!

I did for a while, and then I would just forget about it.... Now, I am trying to remember my cell and use its camera.... No sense in carrying more weight then necessary...

Ok, so I chose sometimes.... mostly because it's always in my car.. and when I decide to put in the camelbak then I forget to take it out. But I do have videos and pics that I've just not posted. Ugh. Does that count?

I used to take my point n shoot until the battery died and won't recharge. I really want to take my DSLR out one day and just get some action photos.

We need a Mountain Bike Photography Day

I like to take one, do it sometimes, it is just never easy to stop and shoot pics..

Some of you all will remember the big rides we used to do 15 - 20 people stopping every 5 or so miles to session and take pics.. Ohhh the days....

I picked some times also, I keep forgetting it, but I do have my ph with me...shoots decent pics, just doesn't have a fast enough shutter speed to catch much.

Amy what ever happened to the vid of our choreographed ride down the Murphy Center steps?

I do not, cause I haven't figured out how to take pics of myself riding. Plus I would probably break the camera.

I love to take a camera on my rides, especially when there is a larger group. However it is difficult to wanna stop and shoot stuff. I carry a point and shoot w/ manual controls on most rides, and from time to time carry my SLR. The days the SLR go are more shoot days than ride days. Which is to say I ride, but try and slow down a bit. I carried a D300, vert grip, 80-200mm f/2.8, 10.5mm f/2.8 fish eye and a 35mm f/1.8 on a 30 mile Tanasi and will prob never do it again! I would love to come out and shoot a bunch of the Nat'l Mtn Bikers on a Sat mornin riding Hammy or Monk

LOL - Stopping is the best part of riding!! LOL - Just kidding. Mostly. It is hard to stop sometimes, but there's nothing like working to conquer those rock climbs, drops, log piles, etc...!!

Camera? Stopping?! Stopping to take pics?! Why would I want to stop and take pics, let alone stop??!! When my kids were little I used to carry a video camera with us everywhere we'd go, but then one day I realized how much I was actually missing because I had my eyes behind that stupid video camera all the time.

Yeah, the film is great to look back on now and then , but I missed a lot of "real time" interaction with my kids because I was so busy filming them. I want to freakin ride, not stop to take pics of pretty flowers and other people riding. I just wanna RIDE BABY RIDE!! Woo hoo!! So, no, I never take a camera. Yvonne Horn on the other hand...

sometimes i bring a camera, but it's easier to take a friend with a camera. that way if you lose your friend, you don't lose your own camera.

and my camera is a bit clunky. when it morphs into a smaller one, i'll be packing it more.

not really, the trails are steep tight and twisty here, there is very little opportunity for worthy pics, looking forward to ride trails where I can stop and enjoy the scenery.

errr..yes but no, there is plenty of scenery in some spots but for the most part were the trails are actually built you cant see more than a few yards in front of you, and the parts that do open up, youre holding on for dear life so your not exactly looking around at the pretty view.

the exception to this is the DH trail, but like I said, youre holding on for life so you wont be looking around much

and I'm currently not riding anywhere, all my bikes have been boxed and have been on a ship somewhere in the pacific for the past few weeks
